Veteran Bahraini journalist Ali Sayyar has died after serving the Press for more than seven decades.
He published his first article in the first issue of Sawt Al Bahrain (The Voice of Bahrain) magazine in 1950.
He was editor-in-chief of three newspapers which he established, namely Al Qafila (The Caravan, 1952 – 1954), Al Watan (The Homeland 1955 – 1956) and Sada Al Osbou magazine (1969 – 1999).
He also wrote a daily column Sabah Al Khaleej in Akhbar Al Khaleej newspaper, which expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of the media figure.
