President Maithripala Sirisena declared open a Wax Museum similar to the concept of the Madame Tussaud Museum , that contains living images of world famous figures.
- It's the brain child of Athula Herath and Mahima Herath and is located in Rajarata, in association with the Polonnaruwa Museum of Ancient Technology.
The museum features the wax figures of all the heads of state in Sri Lanka after the country's independence in 1948 - It will also house the wax statues of famous Srilankan sportsmen, religious leaders , musicians , actors etc alongwith the wax figure of President Sirisena himself.
