The kingdom's outlets are taking drastic steps to control the growing Covid-19 coronavirus crisis by scanning all entrants with 'temporal artery thermometers', better known as 'forehead thermometers'.
Visitors to venues in places such as Adliya and Juffair over the past week have been subject to checks on the doors, with beefy security thrusting the temperature-checking devices onto foreheads before permitting entry.
Temporal artery thermometers use an infrared scanner to measure the temperature of the temporal artery in the forehead.
Whilst not the most accurate method in the world and certainly a higher temperature doesn't directly mean you're inflicted with Covid-19, it's good to see the kingdom take its public health seriously. Implementing some methods is better than none.
