BAHRAIN’S Ali Monfaradi made history last night in London winning a bronze medal in the black belt adult (69kg) category of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam – London which is part of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour.
The 26-year-old athlete of Alliance Elements JJ thus became the only Bahraini black belt to compete and win a medal at the highest level.
Another Bahraini, Nijad Al Gosaibi of Reza Monfaradi BJI Team-Bahrain, won gold in the brown belt Master 2 category (77kg).
