The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority has officially announced on Instagram that the second period of the Bahrain Food Festival has now been cancelled due to health concerns caused by the Covid-19 Coronavirus crisis.
The second period was originally postponed until March 12, but now won't take place at all.
The BTEA said in a statement:
As a result of the recent developments and necessary health precautions undertaken by the Government Executive Committee in accordance with international standards to contain the Corona virus (Covid-19) and to prevent its spread, Bahrain has been praised by the World Health Organisation for its approach to tackling the spread of the virus.
And In order to ensure the safety of participants and the public, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority has announced the cancellation of the second period of #BahrainFoodFestival, which was scheduled to be held between March 12 and March 23, 2020.
BTEA extends its sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the first period of the Festival, including participants, attendees and organisers, and wishes them good health and safety.
