Tomas Krisciunas, a Rotarian from Lithuania and a friend of the Rotary Club of Salmaniya is in Bahrain visiting his friends. He wrote a very interesting book about his experiences living in Bahrain and the GCC region. The book is widely popular back in Lithuania due to their interest in Arab culture. He wishes to have the book translated into English so all of us can read and enjoy his memories.
Many people after reading Tomas' book said that they didn't know that Arabs are such hospitable people. The book is strongly changing the negative stereotypes about Arab culture and Islam religion in the Baltic sea region.
The Rotary Club of Salmaniya was very pleased to have him as a guest speaker last July. His talk was very interesting to the members. His talk in our club is mentioned in his book.
His next plan is to be the tourism console of Bahrain in Lithuania, where he would promote Bahrain as a tourist destination in Lithuania.
Also, he will arrange Northern European companies to explore business opportunities in Bahrain and other GCC countries. The Club wishes him good luck in his future endeavors and is always welcomed back with open arms in friendship.
