The season-opening race has been abandoned here in the early hours of Friday morning after a McLaren mechanic was diagnosed with coronavirus.
That was the decision after a two-and-a-half-hour meeting of team principals and F1 chief Ross Brawn – and interventions from the people who really control the sport.
