Thirty-six grand mosques in Bahrain will limit their spaces for worshippers on Fridays.
The mosques, including those used by expats, are the first batch pending assessment.
It comes as the Sunni Waqf Directorate works to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Its board chairman Shaikh Rashid Al Hajari said the move was aimed at protecting worshippers’ safety and well-being.
“This will reduce numbers on Fridays dramatically as well as control smaller numbers during regular prayers.”
