A multi-lingual coronavirus awareness campaign has been launched by the police.
As part of national efforts to contain the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19), the community policemen have been visiting neighbourhoods in Manama and urging people to stay safe and avoid public gatherings.
The campaign is aimed at encouraging community members, including expatriates, to follow instructions stipulated by the Health Ministry, said the Capital Governorate Police director-general.
“The directorate will continue to hold such campaigns to promote the national efforts to combat coronavirus,” he said.
Meanwhile, the number of active cases of the disease rose to 180 yesterday.
Of these, 176 cases were stable while four were in critical condition.
A total of 125 people have been discharged after completing the mandatory quarantine period.
Only one death has been reported from the virus in Bahrain so far.
