A PERSON associated with IKEA has tested positive for the Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19), the GDN reported today.
The individual works for a third-party company that supports the furniture and home accessories giant’s delivery partners’ operations.
He was suspected to have been infected with Covid-19 case after coming in contact with an infected person in his accommodation.
Details were revealed on the company’s official Instagram account.
“Upon receiving the information, he was immediately isolated and was attended to by the Health Ministry and unfortunately his results tested positive on April 10,” said the company.
“We have mapped all possible people that encountered the mentioned individual and are being tested, so far, the results we received are negative and we are waiting for the rest.“All individuals will remain in isolation for 14 days and as a precautionary measure we have completely stopped our delivery operations until further notice.”
The company also stated that all their facilities and those of their delivery partners have been sanitised and measures implemented to increase the hygiene levels in all facilities.
IKEA also highlighted that deliveries will be delayed as the entire delivery team is being replaced to ensure the safety of customers who will be contacted in person to manage their orders.
