His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa also affirmed that pre-emptive steps and measures taken by the kingdom to combat the coronavirus have created positive results and spread reassurance among everyone, the GDN reported today.
“There is great hope to overcome these urgent circumstances thanks to the awareness and solidarity of all Bahrainis and residents,” the Premier said.
He thanked His Majesty King Hamad for his directives which, he said, consolidated social awareness and strengthened resolve to confront the crisis.
He also paid tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, for his continuous efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
The Premier gave directives to ministries and government departments to step up their preparedness to tackle the outbreak – especially among expat labourers by tightening regulatory procedures in their accommodation.
He made the statements while receiving deputy premiers, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, at his palace in Riffa.
He lauded community partnership and the determination of citizens and residents to make Bahrain a coronavirus-free country. He stressed that the ultimate goal of all measures is to protect the safety and health of citizens and residents.
The Premier followed up on the implementation of his directives regarding support for the educational process, provision of consumer goods and their price control.
“We value highly Bahraini citizens’ co-operation, awareness and commitment to precautionary measures. They deserve all thanks and appreciation,” he said.
He also hailed medical and nursing staff, and praised their sacrifices.
