Gathering of migrant workers inside and around their labour camps has led to the high number of Covid-19 cases, the GDN reported today.
Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Waleed Al Manea also urged all citizens and residents to follow the strict guidelines put in place to prevent public gatherings and the highlighted the importance of wearing face masks.
He said preventive measures such as testing of migrant workers across Bahrain has resulted in the detection of those cases.
He also revealed that since February 24, there has been 65,768 tests conducted of which only 2 percent have tested positive.
He was speaking at Press briefing alongside National National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (Covid-19) Monitoring Committee head Lt. Col. Dr. Manaf Al Qahtani and SMC Infectious Disease Control consultant Dr Jameela Salman.
