A Dubai-based label has launched a special Ramadan piece to help individuals who have been either directly or indirectly affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Alina Anwar Couture has also introduced a #RoomForACause initiative as a platform to help and donate to charities aiding families stricken by the disease.
The company, which offers high-quality elegant evening wear, decided to join the fight against the coronavirus by launching a limited-edition Ramadan piece called GIVE-LOVE.
“The spirit of Ramadan is within our hearts and there is no perfect way of giving out love by showing it to the people we love. In these unprecedented times, all we need to do is to unite and give back to our communities.” said Alina Anwar, founder and creative director of the brand.
“This special piece that I have created for the Holy Month of Ramadan is a symbol of hope, love and prosperity during this time of uncertainty. Let’s not forget Ramadan is all about reconnecting with families, re-evaluating our priorities and giving importance to what matters to us most.”
Alina Anwar Couture’s Ramadan piece is a shiny metallic plum-coloured long sleeved dress with a silver belt accent.
Furthermore, #RoomForACause - a virtual fitting room showcasing her past collections from Autumn/Winter 2018 to Spring/Summer 2019 - are all available for online purchase from April 24 until the end of Ramadan.
All proceeds from this campaign will be directly donated to UAE government and charitable institutions running initiatives to help fight COVID-19.
Alina explained: “I simply wanted to put out all my effort to help through these little initiatives. As an SME and entrepreneur, it’s my own little way of helping those who are going through a difficult time and through this, I hope I could inspire more businesses, SMEs to come forward and create a bigger movement to help other people especially in these very challenging times. It is time for us to show the world the real spirit of Ramadan."
