A TOTAL of 4,000 migrant workers have been provided with food and supplies by the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), the GDN reported today.
It is part of the bank’s contribution to the Capital Governorate’s ‘Together We Care’ campaign to help those affected by Covid-19.
The initiative, led by Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, was launched to support the underprivileged migrant workers with cooked meals and food essentials such as rice, oil and vegetables.
The bank’s contribution towards this campaign follows its BD3.8 million donation to the #FeenaKhair (There is Good in Us) national campaign to help mitigate the impact of the virus on people and businesses.

Responding to its social responsibilities call, the group including its Bahrain-based operations ila Bank, Arab Financial Services and ABC Islamic Bank, launched the fund to contribute to national initiatives across its Mena (Middle East and North Africa) network to ease the impact of Covid-19.
The bank contributed $2m to the Feena Khair campaign.
l Hasan and Habib, sons of Mahmood, has also donated 4,000 meals and boxes to expat workers.
The company donated 2,000 meals (lunch and dinner) in partnership with ila Bank distributed over 12 days on two locations – the Supreme Council for Women and Batelco Tower.
The food was distributed twice a day.
Another 2,000 boxes containing basic necessities (rice, oil, salt, sugar, pasta, canned food, flour, tea and others) were distributed in collaboration with King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Co-existence and This is Bahrain.
The company has also donated BD25,000 to the Feena Khair campaign.
l Ahli United Bank contributed $1m and Bahrain Development Bank Group donated BD100,000 to the Feena Khair campaign.
