Quarantine and isolation facilities provided by the government to contain the spread of the coronavirus are in compliance with human rights norms, it has been revealed, the GDN reported today.
National Institution for Human Rights’ detention and facilities visitation committee head Malallah Al Hammadi said the panel visited quarantine centres and found that infected individuals and medical and nursing staff were provided with nutritious meals and drinks as well as WiFi connectivity.
They were visited by relatives twice a day in accordance with a schedule set to this effect, he said. Laptops are also provided to university students and children accompanying their families, he pointed out.
