BAHRAIN will announce the results of plasma therapy within two weeks, it has been revealed, the GDN reported today.
The country initiated the treatment three weeks ago, which entails taking antibody-rich plasma donated by patients recovered from Covid-19 and injecting it into patients who are severely suffering from the disease.
“We announced clinical trials which are now over three weeks and the initial results are positive,” said Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Waleed Al Manea.
“Within one to two weeks, we will announce the final results.”
He also explained that the average cost of assessing, testing and tracing was at least BD150 per person, while treatment costs was at a minimum of BD130.
This could go over BD800 if the case needs intensive care, without any surgeries.
