Sure my phone looked interesting, (I had a lot of online friends), but so did that girl over there, standing uncomfortably close to the turnstile, peering over with an emotion which could not have been curiosity. She looked more interesting. So I headed over, tapped her shoulder and asked her what she thought about the weather. Then I asked her about her opinions on the future, and what it held for humanity as a whole, and if scars could signify courage or fear (for she had many on her arms). For each word, a step was taken backwards from the edge, each smile, a higher note in her voice.
For a girl who could have taken that jump, had now taken a seat next to me, both of us headed to unique beginnings.
Kindness need not be large scale, it needs to be simplified. It need not be measured, but needs to be felt.
