The Humble Prince

By now, I am sure that most of us have watched the video which has gone viral on social media of HRH the Crown Prince Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa driving his red, top down, convertible and humbly responding to a friendly passer by who merely felt the need to express his sincere gratitude and love towards HRH.
It was heart warming to see that HRH Prince Salman felt safe enough to stop, not only to listen and acknowledge a fellow Bahraini citizen, but also did so without bodyguards or a convey of cars behind him nor anywhere near him. That was an extremely rare sight to see as not many world leaders would do so in order to give respect back to a stranger passing by.
“We all love you” said the passer by with such enthusiasm and passion, triggering a spontaneous reaction from HRH Prince Salman with a literal twinkle in his eyes, if you watch the video closely. HRH never stopped smiling throughout, and humbly conversed with his fellow citizen as they exchanged kind words during this brief yet memorable encounter, one that speaks volumes about the love and respect HRH Prince Salman has for his people, sentiments and feelings that are reciprocated across the kingdom.
This is just one of many instances that we have seen and/or heard of that symbolizes the special bond between Bahraini citizens and their approachable, kind hearted and generous leaders.
They say home is a feeling and not a place- yet this beautiful island of two seas reflects the two so beautifully, and videos like the one that went viral yesterday makes us all proud to be #TeamBahrain.
