“Nature is not a place to visit , it is home”- Snyder
All of us are spending more time indoors given the pandemic situation and now summer is beginning to catch-up. Here is a simple way to change the view indoors as well as to keep our surroundings free of certain chemicals and full of oxygen. Scientists suggest a list of plants which give oxygen even at night and absorbs certain domestic chemicals present in cleaning agents etc . Also indoor plants help in keeping the room slightly cooler and pleasant to eyes .
Following is the list of some indoor plants :
1 Spider plant
Indirect light, well-drained soil and a spot that doesn’t get too hot is all you need to keep a spider plant green and thriving.
2 Snake plant
It grows well in a sunny window. Doesn’t even need regular watering as it will do fine in dry soil. Snake plants are an excellent choice for any room in the house and will help remove formaldehyde from air.
3 Peace lily
It grows well in indirect sunlight. It will help filter out a wide mix of volatile organics from the air, like benzene, toluene, formaldehyde and xylene.
4 Pothos vine
They are so easy to grow that anyone can keep alive. Choose a sunny spot , but without too much direct light .Water occasionally , better a little too dry than too wet with a pothos plant.
Good for cleaning up formaldehyde in the air, as well as adding clean oxygen to your environment. Make sure you have your pothos in a hanging basket and well out of reach, if you got pets . It’s toxic if ingested or chewed.
5 Aloe Vera
It also targets benzene and formaldehyde, and will grow well in any sunny window. It is a succulent, grow quite slowly and have thick fleshy spear-like leaves. Dry conditions are the best, so you should let the soil dry out completely between waterings.
