The Smile Initiative, a Bahrain Future Society for Youth programme that provides psycho-social support to children with cancer and their parents in Bahrain, held a drawing workshop entitled ‘Artfulness’ at its base in Mahooz.
The workshop comes in line with Smile’s keenness to continue its entertainment activities to help put a smile on the faces of children battling the disease,
After being taught drawing and colouring techniques such as blending, shading and adjusting transparency, the children presented their drawings of landscapes, nature and scenery during the workshop, which helped them develop their creative abilities, as well as their self-confidence and ability to learn.
The workshop was held in co-operation with the Sea Change Foundation and was supervised by artist Sara Murad and psychologist Asma Mohamed.
