New Covid-19 guidelines have been set for Indian expatriate travellers heading back to their home state of Kerala to ensure their safety and help control the spread of the Omicron variant.
The guidelines were announced recently by Kerala’s Directorate of Health Services and shared on the Indian Embassy of Bahrain’s Twitter account.
According to the rules, any international traveller coming to Kerala will undergo symptom surveillance and if found symptomatic, then will undertake a RTPCR test at cost and action will be taken depending on the results.
There will also be random testing of two per cent of international travellers on flights, irrespective of the country of departure, carried out free of cost. Home quarantine is advisable for international travellers for seven days and if symptoms develop they should undergo testing.
