Initiative to plant 100,000 trees


A major Saudi-backed initiative to plant 100,000 trees in Bahrain kicked off yesterday.

The initiative was launched by Saudi Arabia’s Tanmiah Food Company in partnership with Bahrain’s Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry and Saudi Environment, Water and Agriculture Ministry.

The inauguration was attended by Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak, Oil and Environment Minister and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs Dr Mohammed Bin Daina, and Saudi National Centre for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification chief executive Dr Khaled Alabdulkader on behalf of the Saudi Environment, Water and Agriculture Minister.
