The British School Al Khubairat, Abu Dhabi, was filled with the enchanting melodies of violin virtuoso Leia Zhu on the evening of 9th February 2024. The highly anticipated performance, part of the ongoing Abu Dhabi Festival, showcased Leia Zhu's exceptional musical talent alongside some of the UAE's most promising young musicians.
Hailed as 'one of the most exciting young violinists of her generation,' Leia Zhu mesmerised the audience with her musical maturity, expressive interpretations, and technical prowess. From her debut at the age of four in her hometown of Newcastle upon Tyne to captivating audiences around the globe, Leia Zhu has continually amazed with her artistry.
This recital comes after a week-long residency with some of the UAE's most talented young musicians and was an unmissable opportunity to see this exceptional master performing with the students, live in Abu Dhabi. In collaboration with The British School Al Khubairat, Leia dedicated her time from February 5th to 9th to closely working with 22 young string students selected from across the UAE, conducting masterclasses and engaging in extensive rehearsals. The culmination of their efforts was a performance that celebrated talent, mentorship, and the unifying power of music.
The event was open to the public, reflecting the Abu Dhabi Festival's commitment to making arts and culture accessible to all. Attendees were treated to an evening of captivating music and artistry, leaving them inspired and uplifted.
