Cute cuddly Shih Tzus are becoming the most dumped dogs in the kingdom, according to animal activists trying to deal with a recent surge in strays.
Animal shelters are packed with the tiny mutts and many are unable to take in any more because of limited space and funding concerns.
Bahrain Rescues spokesperson Modja Banahi told the GDN that Shih Tzus and similar small breed dogs were among the most common animals discarded on the streets and currently living in animal shelters.
