Bahrain's jiu-jitsu superstar Ali Monfaradi was yesterday crowned world champion to headline a five-medal haul for the kingdom’s national team at the 2024 World Championships, held in Heraklion, Greece.
Monfaradi struck gold in the adult no-gi men’s under-77kg category.
Bahrain’s other medals included two silver and two bronze medals. Abdulla Ali clinched an adult men’s silver and Alaa Ahmed captured an adult women’s bronze; while Bader Al Doseri came away with a masters men’s silver and Nijad Algosaibi completed their haul with a masters men’s bronze.
