
Bahrain was a beacon of peace and tolerance even before the advent of Islam, according to a top academic.
Pre-Islamic Bahrain was always a place of peace and prosperity where Arabs would gather without prejudice or violence, said Bahrain University professor Dr Khalid Al Hamdani.
He was speaking on ‘Bahrain Before Islam: A Critical Reading’ on the opening day of the annual conference of the GCC Society for History and Archaeology at the InterContinental Bahrain in Manama.
