
A prestigious college of Islamic studies in Bahrain reinforces the kingdom’s position as a centre of learning and thought, it has been declared.
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, deputised Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to inaugurate the new building of the Abdulla Bin Khalid College of Islamic Studies in Riffa yesterday.
The opening ceremony, organised by the Education Ministry, was attended by Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Supreme Council for Health chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad for naming several government facilities, including the College of Islamic Studies, after the late Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al Khalifa, in recognition of his contributions to the kingdom and Islam, his dedication to spreading religious knowledge, promoting authentic Islamic values, defending national principles and enhancing Bahrain’s presence in academic and intellectual forums.
