The iconic Dolphin Resort is set to be demolished after the company behind it failed to renew its contract with the Capital Municipality and accumulated outstanding financial debt, resulting in a court order to remove the property and the company's headquarters.
The Capital Municipality sent a field team to evacuate the premises and start the demolition process today.
For decades, Dolphin Resort was Bahrain's only destination where dolphin and seal shows were hosted, offering a variety of events and even the opportunity to swim with the marine mammals. The resort was a popular destination for school trips, but it gradually fell into disrepair and eventually closed.
