A number of Bahraini fishermen were declared winners in the Haddaq competition, which was held as part of the eighth edition of Nasser Bin Hamad Marine Heritage season.
The Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup round was held over the weekend.
Hussein Abdulnabi won the chanad category by netting a kingfish weighing 11.85kg, followed by Ibrahim Flamarzi with 10kg and Jaafar Ahmed with 5.20kg.
In the hamour category, Taher Mohammed won first place (10.90kg), followed by Ahmed Al Hashemi (7.50kg) and Ghulam Jilani (7.45kg).
In the shaari (emperor fish) category, Saqr Tariq was first (2kg), followed by Adel Al Emadi (1.95kg) and Khaled Al Ajmi finished (1.90kg).
Lastly, in the sikkin (cobia) category, Abdulrahman Al Thawadi was first (12.90kg), followed by Ghulam Jilani (9.05kg).
A second round is scheduled to be held next week for the Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup.
