Shaikh Nasser praises reading contest winner

Proud Bahraini student, Mohammed Jassim Mubarak, has received a well-deserved royal pat on his back for winning a prestigious regional reading contest.

His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa met the student from Ahlia Private School yesterday and noted that his achievement embodies the intellectual and creative potential of Bahraini youth.

This enables them to excel in prominent regional and international competitions, Shaikh Nasser added.

Mohammed secured second place in the ninth Arab Reading Challenge, which attracted the participation of more than 32 million students from 50 Arab and international countries.

Launched in 2015 under the vision of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Arab Reading Challenge began as a call to revive the Arabic language and restore reading to its central place in education and culture.
