As the countdown to year-end celebrations begins, a recent YouGov study commissioned by AliExpress in October reveals that shoppers in Saudi Arabia are setting the pace for early festive planning and online shopping confidence.
The findings come as AliExpress gears up for its 11.11 and Super Friday shopping bonanza, the platform’s largest promotion of the year, bringing up to 80% off discounts, including some of the top brands, plus additional payment discounts and fast delivery options across the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia: Confident, Early, and Experience-Driven
With over 65% of respondents shopping online at least once a week, Saudi consumers are leading the region with a blend of confidence, style, and purpose in their festive shopping habits:
With 29% planning their festive purchases, including for New Year, Ramadan and Eid well in advance, and 35% prepared to shop a few weeks in advance, Saudi shoppers lead the way in early planning
35% of the planned shopping budget will be spent on gifts. 41% gift givers are focusing on beauty and personal care, 35% plan to gift fashion and accessories, while 32% are prioritizing phones and tech.
72% say promotions and exclusive offers are their top motivators, proving that smart savings and thoughtful gifting are part of the Saudi shopping DNA.
70% say they’ve saved significantly through AliExpress this year among those who shopped on the marketplace.
The study also highlights the Kingdom’s growing preference for speed and convenience, with more than half (54%) now preferring to buy festive gifts online rather than in-store.
