The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has added a new feature to the ‘Virtual Customer Service Centre’ available on its corporate website (iga.gov.bh), for ID Card and Civil Records services, Birth and Death services, and Building and Establishment Address services.
The new feature enables the users to complete direct payment transactions during the virtual video call by scanning a QR code through the BenefitPay app.
This enhancement reflects the iGA’s ongoing efforts to expand digital services and support Bahrain’s digital transformation, in line with directives of Interior Minister and Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology chairman General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.
iGA director of Identity and Population Registry Shaikh Sabah bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that the new feature is an added option within iGA services provided by the virtual Customer Service Centre that includes issuing, renewing, or replacing ID cards, updating civil records information, updating residential addresses, and issuing, amending, or replacing lost birth and death certificates.
“The aim is to support citizens and residents with difficulties in dealing with digital services to complete their transactions entirely virtually through live video communication, offering a more seamless services and convenient customer experience,” Shaikh Sabah added.
