Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) – Medical University of Bahrain – has launched a new initiative to promote student health and create a positive campus environment.
Trained Student Health Ambassadors (SHA) will engage with peers in their year group to raise awareness of healthy lifestyles and support wellbeing initiatives.
Ambassadors are selected through an open and competitive application process, and evaluated on their knowledge and relevant experience.
Eleven students have been selected for the initiative – one from each year of study, in the School of Medicine and the School of Nursing and Midwifery – ensuring broad representation and accessible peer support.
“The SHA programme is an important step in strengthening our holistic approach to student wellbeing and shaping future healthcare practitioners,” said RCSI Medical University of Bahrain student development head Dr Wendy Maddison.
