A heartwarming story of friendship between two first graders at Granada Primary School for Girls has touched hearts across Bahrain.
Young Jumana Ahmed has been widely praised for her compassion and unwavering support for her classmate, Nibras Hussain, who experiences hearing challenges.
The Education Ministry highlighted their story on its social media platforms, describing it as a genuine embodiment of Bahraini values rooted in generosity, empathy, and kindness. Nibras expressed heartfelt gratitude to her friend, saying that Jumana’s constant support has made her feel confident and capable.
She explained that Jumana never waits for her to ask for help; instead, she watches her eyes for any sign of confusion, opens her notebook, and rephrases lessons in simple words and gestures that are easy to understand. Calling her friend ‘a listening ear and a heart overflowing with love’, Nibras said she no longer feels her condition is an obstacle to her learning and success.
