Community Preparedness in Action: The Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers (IIEE) Bahrain Chapter Conducts BLS, First Aid, Firefighting, and SSS Information Program
The Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers (IIEE) Bahrain Chapter successfully conducted a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS), First Aid, Fire Response, and Social Security System (SSS) Information Program on June 12, 2026, at Al Hala Sports Club, in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association Bahrain (PNAB).
The initiative brought together members of the Filipino community in Bahrain to strengthen emergency preparedness, promote safety awareness, enhance financial literacy, and develop essential life-saving skills. Through a combination of expert-led lectures and hands-on exercises, participants gained practical knowledge and confidence in responding effectively to medical emergencies, fire-related incidents, and important social security matters.
Empowering Participants Through First Aid Training
The First Aid and Basic Life Support session was expertly facilitated by Mr. Allan D. Terceño, RN, a member of PNAB who shared valuable knowledge, practical techniques, and professional insights on emergency response and life-saving interventions.
Hands-On Fire Response and Firefighting Training
The Fire Response and Firefighting session was conducted by the professional team from Alpha Fire Service, who delivered informative presentations and realistic demonstrations on fire prevention, emergency response procedures, and the proper use of firefighting equipment.
Participants actively engaged in practical exercises, allowing them to apply what they learned and gain firsthand experience in responding to fire emergencies safely and effectively.
SSS Consultation for Overseas Filipino Workers
In addition to the emergency preparedness sessions, the program also featured an SSS consultation focused on Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), conducted by Ms. Fatima Dalynn Mendoza. The session provided participants with valuable information on SSS membership, benefits, contributions, and other important matters relevant to Filipinos working abroad.
Through this informative discussion, attendees gained a better understanding of their social security rights and responsibilities, further promoting awareness of social protection, financial preparedness, and long-term security for OFWs and their families.
