I am a founder member and director of the Bahrain Writers’ Circle (BWC), an informal group of like-minded people who love writing and reading. It was launched in 2011 by Robin Barratt – best-selling author of true crime. We welcome writers from all nationalities at all stages of their writing lives and aim to create an encouraging environment in which to nurture creativity, improve the craft of writing, network with other writers, and enjoy the experience of exploring the stories, poetry and theatre that are part of us all as human beings. We have an annual art & writing event called Confluence - where words & images meet. Plans are underway for that to take place in April 2020.

We have two sub-groups - The Second Circle and the Creative Writers’ Workshops. The Second Circle is for poets to share their work, get feedback and work towards presenting an annual Colours of Life poetry festival. The Creative Writers’ Workshops for prose, is dedicated to honing the craft, sharing our writing and getting peer feedback and participating in a monthly challenge.
