A very old photo of a mother joining in a Street Football game (as they did in them days) except that this is no ordinary woman.
Her name is Elizabeth Charlton and that little lad she is beating to the ball is non other than her son who would come home bawling his eye's out after being rejected by his home town team Newcastle United as being too small.
She encouraged him to try somewhere else so he did and made the grade and fame with Manchester United becoming Sir Bobby Charlton after winning numerous awards including a World Cup Medal in 1966.
