An Israeli embassy will open in Bahrain. The announcement was made jointly by Israeli foreign minister Yair Lapid and his Bahraini counterpart Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani during a media conference at The Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay this afternoon.
Dr Al Zayani, in his address, described the historic visit of Mr Lapid as a ‘milestone’ in the rapid development of the relationship between the two countries, hoping co-operation will add to peace and stability in the region.
The ministers signed several memoranda of understandings prior to the press conference, including one on environmental protection as well as co-operation in the fields of sport, innovative and development of water resources.
