More than 4,500 Bahrainis were hired in the government since 2019 until last month as part of plans to Bahrainise the country's ministries.
In addition, contracts of 1,815 expatriates ended during the same time.
Details were revealed during the Shura Council's weekly session today during a discussion on the 2010 Civil Service Law.
Civil Service Bureau president Ahmed Al Zayed highlighted that 4,598 Bahrainis were hired in the government to replace expatriates from 2019 until November 14 this year.
