Officials have been urged to continue efforts to combat narcotics at schools, youth centres, sports clubs and cyberspace by raising awareness and promoting collective responsibility.
Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, who is also National Anti-Drug Committee chairman, pointed out that 2,285 drug cases were detected from the beginning of 2023 until mid-2024.
He highlighted security preparedness using modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and stressed the need to reinforce constructive community partnerships to tackle drug abuse.
